Kajiado Community Borehole

A 220 m community borehole and solar pumping scheme now serving over 4,000 residents and their livestock.

Majitech carried out a full resistivity survey across three candidate sites before settling on a fractured basement aquifer at 212 m. The borehole was drilled with a DTH rig, cased in 8-inch steel and gravel-packed, then test pumped for 24 hours at 12 m³/hr. A 5 kW solar array drives a submersible pump into two 50,000-litre storage tanks feeding four communal draw-off points.
